No Longer a Dry Spring

After just getting started on the hay we were hit with two weeks of rain. Nice today, but lots more unsettled weather in the forecast. Germination is still poor and deer are now stopping by to munch. First lettuce is about done, must plant more. Same with radishes.

From Charles Thurwood's 1874 diary of a farm in Fort Plain NY

"Pleasant and very hot and I worked for Mr. Dunchel made fence all day and father cultivated our potatoes and that is all
33 eggs"
